WHO GOD IS WHAT HE HAS DONE OUR THANKFULNESS TO HIM

Compiled by:  Frank George Moore

You, Lord, are worthy to be praised - for You are our Rock, and our fortress, and our deliverer; You O Lord are our strength and our song - and hath become our salvation (Psalm 18:2) -- for I proclaim the name of the Lord and ascribe greatness to our God. His work is perfect, for all His ways are justice. A God of truth and without injustice---righteous and upright He is. (Psalm 32:4)

I am Almighty God. (Genesis 17:1) I am the Lord your God. (Exodus 6:7) I am He, there is no other god beside me. (Deut. 32:39) I am the first and the last. (Isaiah 44:6) The Alpha and Omega. The beginning and the ending. (Rev. 1:8) The bright and morning star. (Rev. 22:16) The God of all flesh. (Jer. 32:27) The Lord your God (Exodus 6:7) The Almighty (Genesis 35:11) Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth. (Ps 46:10) Can anyone hide himself in secret places so I shall not see him? Do I not fill the heavens and the earth? (Jer 23:23) Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me if you have understanding. Who determined its' measurements, or stretched the line upon it To what were its; foundations fastened or who laid the corner stone, or who decreed the boundaries of the sea when they gush forth from the depths and barred the waters by limiting their shores and said, this far you may come but no farther.

Have you ever once commanded the morning to appear, and caused the dawn to rise in the east? Have you ever told the daylight to spread to the end of the earth and end the nights, wickedness? Have you ever robed the dawn in red? Have you explored the springs from which the sea comes; or walked in the source of its' depths? Do you realize the extent of the earth? Where does light come from and how do you get there; or tell me about darkness, where does it come from; can you find its' boundaries or go to its' source? Have you visited the treasurers of the snow - where is the home to the east wind- who dug the valley and caused it to rain on a land where no one is? Has the rain a father? Where does the dew come from? Can you hold back the stars?

Can you insure the proper sequence of the seasons? Do you know the law of the universe and how the heavens influence the earth? (Job 38:1-41)

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Gen.1:1) For He spoke and it was done. He commanded it and it was done. For thus saith the Lord that created the heaven; God Himself that formed the earth and made it; He hath established it. ( Isaiah 45:18) I have made the earth and created man upon it. I even my hands have stretched out the heavens and all their host have I commanded; (Isaiah 45:12) and giveth breath unto the people upon it and spirit to them that walk there in. (Isaiah 42:5)

I am the Lord your God, ye shall have no other gods before me for I am a jealous God. (Deut. 5:9)

What does the Lord thy God require of thee but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all His ways, and to love Him; to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul. (Deut. 10:12)

O give thanks to the Lord and pray to Him. Tell the people of the world about His mighty doings, and tell of His marvelous works. Glory in His name and seek His face continually. Remember His mighty miracles and His authority - He is the Lord our God. (I Chron. 16:8-14)

We are bound to give thanks to thee O God, because thou hast from the beginning chosen some to salvation through sanctification of the spirit and belief in the truth.

(II Thes. 2:13 Whom God hath chosen in Christ before the foundations of the world, that we should be holy and with out blame before Him in love. (Eph 1:4) In whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of His grace. (Eph 1:7)

Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures and that He was buried and that He arose again the third day according to the scriptures. (I Cor. 15:3-4) He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life but the wrath of God abideth upon him. (Jn 3:36)

Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with His benefits even to the God of our salvation. (Ps 68:19) Thou makest me to lie down in green pastures, thou feedest us beside the still waters. Thou preparest a table for us in the presence of our enemies. Thou anointest our heads and our cups run over. (Ps 23) Thou hast given us all things richly to enjoy. (I Tim 6:17) And into our hands hast brought plentifully. (Job 12:6) Many a time we have eaten and been filled and have delighted ourselves in thy great goodness. (Ne.9:25) When we have eaten and are full we have reason to bless thee for the good land which Thou hast given us. (Deut. 8:10) A land of wheat and barley (De 8:8), a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills thou mayest dig brass (Deut 8:9) - a land which the eyes of the Lord our God are always upon from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. (De 11:12) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly things in Christ. (Eph. 1:3) Let our souls return to Him as their rest, because He hath dealt bountifully with us (Ps 116:7) - we will take the cup of our salvation and call upon the name of the Lord (Ps 116:13) for the Lord is good, His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endureth to all generations.

(Ps 100:5)

Blessed be the name of the Lord. (Job 1:21)
