WHAT GOD SAYS ABOUT FOOLS
The book of Proverbs gives us insight on how God views foolish people. The following is a list of what God says about fools:
Fools despise wisdom and instruction
Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Fools hate knowledge
Proverbs 1:22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
Fools will have shame as their promotion
Proverbs 3:35 The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
Fools are the heaviness of their mother
Proverbs 10:1 A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
Fools shall fall
Proverbs 10:8, 10 The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall.He that winketh with the eye causeth sorrow: but a prating fool shall fall.
Fools reap destruction
Proverbs 10:14 Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.
Fools utter slander
Proverbs 10:18 He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool.
Fools die for lack of wisdom
Proverbs 10:21 The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom.
Fools do mischief
Proverbs 10:23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
Fools shall be servants to the wise
Proverbs 11:29 He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.
Fools ways are right in their own eyes
Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

Proverbs 12:16 A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.

Proverbs 13:20 He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.
Fools talk with pride
Proverbs 14:3 In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.
Fools have no knowledge
Proverbs 14:7 Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.
Fools deceive themselves
Proverbs 14:8 The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

Proverbs 14:9 Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

Proverbs 17:12 Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man, rather than a fool in his folly.
Fools have no desire to get wisdom
Proverbs 17:16 Wherefore is there a price in the hand of a fool to get wisdom, seeing he hath no heart to it?
Fools bring pain to their father
Proverbs 17:21 He that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow: and the father of a fool hath no joy.
Fools eyes wander and don’t seek wisdom
Proverbs 17:24 Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.
Fools are a grief to father and bitterness to mother
Proverbs 17:25 A foolish son is a grief to his father, and bitterness to her that bare him.
Fools are thought to be wise when they keep silent
Proverbs 17:28 Even a fool, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding.
Fools have no delight in understanding
Proverbs 18:2 A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.
Fools continually get into contentions
Proverbs 18:6 A fool's lips enter into contention, and his mouth calleth for strokes.
Fools ruin is their mouth
Proverbs 18:7 A fool's mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul.
Fools are dishonest
Proverbs 19:1 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.
Fools run their own lives without God
Proverbs 19:3 The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the LORD.
Fools are a calamity to their father
Proverbs 19:13 A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.
Fools insist upon quarreling
Proverbs 20:3 It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.
Fools spend all they have
Proverbs 21:20 There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.
Fools despise wise words
Proverbs 23:9 Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words.
Fools have nothing to say among the wise
Proverbs 24:7 Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.
Fools are not fit for honor
Proverbs 26:1 As snow in summer, and as rain in harvest, so honour is not seemly for a fool.
Fools trust in their own heart
Proverbs 28:6 Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.
Fools are to be guided with a rod
Proverbs 26:3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool's back.
Fools give foolish arguments
Proverbs 26:4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.
Fools think they are wise
Proverbs 26:5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit.
Fools cannot convey a message
Proverbs 26:6 He that sendeth a message by the hand of a fool cutteth off the feet, and drinketh damage.
Fools with a proverb or parable in his mouth is limp and dangerous
Proverbs 26:7, 9 The legs of the lame are not equal: so is a parable in the mouth of fools. As a thorn goeth up into the hand of a drunkard, so is a parable in the mouth of fools.
Fools will be rewarded
Proverbs 26:10 The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors.
Fools repeat their folly
Proverbs 26:11 As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly.
Fools cause strong resentment
Proverbs 27:3 A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath is heavier than them both.
Fools are filled with foolishness
Proverbs 27:22 Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.
Fools trust in themselves
Proverbs 28:26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
Fools taken to court ridicule the wise
Proverbs 29:9 If a wise man contendeth with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
Fools express all their anger
Proverbs 29:11 A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.
