THE DISCREET WOMAN
Paul, intreated Titus to have the older women teach the younger women in the church how they were to conduct themselves so that God's Word would not be blasphemed. Discreet is defined as being careful and sensible in speech and action; wisely cautious, showing good sense; of a sound mind, sane in one's senses, self-controled, curbing one's desires and impulses, temperate.
A DISCREET WOMAN:
Is noble ~ Acts 17:11 These were more noble...in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Is Useful
Is an example ~ 1 Timothy 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Is hid with Christ in God ~ Colossians 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Possesses the Spirit of our Lord ~ Romans 8:14-15 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
Discerns between good and evil ~ Hebrews 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Is careful about her conduct ~ Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Uses economy at home ~ Proverbs 31:16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
Is not extravagant ~ Proverbs 31:13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
Is judicious ~ Proverbs 15:21 Folly is joy to him that is destitute of wisdom: but a man of understanding walketh uprightly.
Is wise ~ James 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
Prays for wisdom ~ James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all [men] liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Is cautious as to where she goes ~ Proverbs 4:26 Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.
Is cautious as to what she says ~ Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Is cautious as to what she does along lifes journey ~ Proverbs 16:20 He that handleth a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.

Anchors her life to God, the mighty rock of ages ~ Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
