INSTRUCTIONS FROM 1 PETER
1. Gird up the loins of your mind ~ 1 Peter 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
2. Obey God in ALL things ~ 1 Peter 1:14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
3. Be Holy in all manner of life ~ 1 Peter 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
4. Live as one who has been redeemed ~ 1 Peter 1:18-19 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, [as] silver and gold, from your vain conversation [received] by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
5. Faith and hope must be in God ~ 1 Peter 1:21 Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
6. Love one another with a pure heart ~ 1 Peter 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, [see that ye] love one another with a pure heart fervently:
7. Rid yourself of hatred, envy, and hypocrisy ~ 1 Peter 2:1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
8. Desire God's Word to grow by ~ 1 Peter 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
9. Praise God for bringing you out of darkness ~ 1 Peter 2:9 But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
10. Abstain from fleshly lusts ~ 1 Peter 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech [you] as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
11. Be careful with your behavior among unsaved ~ 1 Peter 2:12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by [your] good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
12. Obey the laws of your government ~ 1 Peter 2:13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
13. Fear God ~ 1 Peter 2:17 Honour all [men]. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
14. Seek a meek and quiet spirit ~ 1 Peter 3:4 But [let it be] the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, [even the ornament] of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
15. Be of one mind, be compassionate, pitiful and courteous ~ 1 Peter 3:8 Finally, [be ye] all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, [be] pitiful, [be] courteous:
16. Don't repay evil for evil, but blessing for blessing ~ 1 Peter 3:9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
17. Control your tongue ~ 1 Peter 3:10 For he that will love life, and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips that they speak no guile:
18. Turn away from evil, do good, and seek peace ~ 1 Peter 3:11 Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
19. Set yourself apart to the Lord ~ 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

21. Arm yourself with the mind of Christ ~ 1 Peter 4:1 Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
22. Live the rest of your life in the will of God ~ 1 Peter 4:2 That he no longer should live the rest of [his] time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
23. Be a person of prayer ~ 1 Peter 4:7 But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
24. Show fervent love ~ 1 Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
25. Be hospitable ~ 1 Peter 4:9 Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
26. Be good stewards of the gifts God gives you ~ 1 Peter 4:10 As every man hath received the gift, [even so] minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
27. Rejoice in sufferings ~ 1 Peter 4:12-13 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
28. Be happy if you are insulted for being a Christian ~ 1 Peter 4:14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy [are ye]; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.
29. Commit yourself to God ~ 1 Peter 4:19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls [to him] in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
30. Exhibit humility ~ 1 Peter 5:5-6 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all [of you] be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
31. Cast all your cares on God ~ 1 Peter 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
32. Beware of your enemy the devil ~ 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
33. Be strengthened and established by the grace of God ~ 1 Peter 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle [you].
